Status Updates From The Diving Pool: Three Nove...

Yikes

Finished the first novella, “The Diving Pool”, where we watch our main character Aya obsess over her essentially adopted brother whilst also inflicting abuse on an orphaned infant who cannot fight back. Really interesting, first main character of Ogawa’s that is quite unlikeable in my readings! But also, so fascinating to read about the forced caretaker role Aya puts on herself/family…the last pages are wow.
