Things are getting ironed out. Payton left, and Simon went after him. But not before he arrested Markham. Caldwell is still nowhere to be found.

There's still some things to be ironed out, including Simon's tendency to gloss over anything that doesn't bother him by getting Payton horned up, but it's clear that Simon cares.

Simon is being overbearing.

Payton is breaking into Markham's office and figuring out that he's the guy they're after.

Oh my

The ball is a smashing success. Simon and Payton still have not talked... and now Simon appears to be cutting Payton out of the investigation.

These two are as bad as each other, and while some miscommunication is okay, using it as a blatant plot device like this gets old quick

More sex instead of talking. Payton ends up cutting Simon's dog tag out because someone reactivated it.

Simon is on to Payton being leery about bringing a child into this however, a talk cant be far away

Dru is definitely not Simon's fiancé, and Payton adores her. They're planning a ball to convince people that the Englor Marines are still needed, which sounds like the opposite of safe to me.

The computer butler found the schematics that they've been looking for. It's a super weapon (Death Star beam essentially)

Simon and Payton still need to talk. There's quite a bit of miscommunication happening

Simon really needs to speak with Payton ASAP. Payton is of the opinion Dru is still Simon's fiancé, and that Simon has no love for him.

Payton's also way over his head running the castle, but he's doing his best. Hopefully things turn around a bit when Payton talks to Dru.

Simon's really screwing this up. Poor Payton's emotions are all over the place and from his perspective I can't blame him. Simon relegating him to househusband and sperm donor isn't exactly helping.

I know Simon is busy now that he is King, but this is a conversation they must have, and soon.

Simon and Payton have a shotgun wedding.

Simon is, understandably, pissed that Payton misled him. However he said something that was over the line, and their marriage if off to a rough start.

Nate is going back to Relegence to inform Payton's parents of the developments. Payton is staying on Englor, and is going to continue the investigation.

Goodbye turns into good sex... and Nate catches Simon and Payton in the act.

Simon finds out in the worst possible way that Payton is a Prince, and agrees to marry him to save his reputation.

Payton is a mess and knows Simon can't do this because his people will not accept such a relationship.

Well this started with a bang. The King and Queen of Englor are dead. A military assassination by bomb. Aldred and Simon agree they can trust Nate's Father as an advisor, but are unsure of who else.

Leland (Nate's Dad) tells Simon he needs to talk to Nate, and agrees an alliance with Regelence would be beneficial.

Payton is leaving in one day in book time, and I can't help but wonder whats going to keep him there.

The scene of Payton losing his virginity here is very well done. I'm really enjoying the romance in this book so far.

Can't help but wonder when the other shoe will drop however. Simon does not know Payton is a Prince, and Payton is going to be leaving soon.

I enjoyed this part. Payton and Simon are at a banquet with Nate, his family and Simon's parents. The Queen is her bigoted self, and Nate handles her with grace. Jared and Payton make fun of her.

Payton has Simon follow him into the castle garden where they share a heated kiss before they're interrupted by Nate calling for Payton. I enjoy the pacing of this romance much more than the first one, and its more natural

What a whirlwind of a segment. Sometimes I feel like the author paces things too quickly and things get jumbled.

Payton meets Dru, and assumes Simon and Dru are an item. Jealousy ensues. Near the end of a chapter in this segment Simon saw who I am assuming is his mother get into a lift with Markham.

Payton wants to prove Englor isn’t in league with the IN quickly so he doesn’t have to tell Nate about Simon

Markham is a problem, and definitely the main bad-dy of the book.

Simon and Payton cant get enough of each other and things are just really starting.

They go to gambling hall with Roc and Wycliffe, and Simon tells them they'll all talk later. Payton is experiencing homophobia for the first time.
