Status Updates From Mary, Will I Die?

Characterization: In this book, each chapter is dedicated, and narrated by one character. This topic is kind of difficult, because there isn't really one main character. There is one similarity between all of them, they are all affected by the day in Elena's grandmas room. They all have different lives, but they are all like "connected" through Mary.

Point of View: I think this book is written in a First person point of view, alternating between Grace, Elena, Steph, and Calvin. All 4 perspectives are described differently, which is how i was able to find out that it was written in a first person perspective. It is kind of challenging trying to figure out when they are alternating narrators, other than when the chapter is named after them.

SETTING: So far, the setting starts at Elena's house, with all of the carpool friends. The book doesn't go too far into detail about were it starts, but t does mention that they go into Elena's dead grandmothers room and look at the mirror. Shortly after chapter 1, the book skips tot he first day of high school, where Grace and Elena have an interesting interaction.
