Finished "The Ghost of Fountain Lane." 4 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I like how the case of the Fountain Lane ghost and the missing check (cheque) of course tie together. Well executed, though I again wish certain things were actually SHOWN that they happened instead of us being TOLD that they did. It feels sloppily done if it's not even going to be mentioned until the end.

I'm excited to read the last story, "Kidnapped!"

Just read “Drawn Daggers.” Exceedingly captivating and well-written! Aside from a little confusion towards the end with the telegraphing business, the whole plot was ingenious from beginning to end. 4 1/2 stars for DRAW! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Just finished “The Princess’s Vengeance.” Very good! 4 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I like how, as per usual, the culprit wasn’t the one who’s hinted at being the culprit. I only wish C.L. Pirkis would have added more foreshadowing in some places in order to explain the later events. She did that well enough in MURD, the previous story.

Just finished “The Redhill Sisterhood.” Very impressive! I loved the plot twists in this one. Nothing, indeed, is as it seems—just like a good mystery should be!

Just read “The Murder at Troyte’s Hill.” That was FABULOUS. Well done. I was positively tense with suspense at the end scene when Loveday was locked in with a lunatic. Why are these books not more popular? 😭 They’re original enough—not a Holmes carbon copy. Augh. 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just (re-)finished "The Black Bag Left on a Door-step." That was extremely good. 😁 Obviously, it had to have been good, as this is the story that prompted me to buy the whole Loveday Brooke collection. I see a lot of potential for Loveday, and I REALLY enjoyed the banter between her and her boss, Ebenezer Dyer (OOH! And the codes they use with each other!).
