the essays are all over the place. i just finished one and it was so exasperating i felt the need to write my thoughts. a lot of these essays start with an interesting or unique topic/perspective, but then they all meander from the point so much that they all just sound like each other. there have been almost no distinct voices, and 80% of them have said ultimately nothing. the other 20% good though.
