Just read a segment of this book that really resonated with me. Where Bennett talks about how her grandma lived alone for 40 years after the loss of the love of her life which was abnormal in those days. This made me think of my own grandma who lived alone for over 30 years after she lost my Grandad. I really just started to deep how when you loose someone you love so deeply they are irreplaceable.

I think the reason I'm not struggling with this book is that I've read some beat generation authors, and their stream-of-consciousness kind of writing is a lot more actively hostile to the reader
