Ok, that was the preface. The performance of the book is a bit better in the actual articles.

Audiobook version - the author is performing it herself. She should have gotten someone else to do it. Her voice itself is pleasant but there is very little inflection or speed change which makes monotonous or in danger of making me sleepy even if the information is interesting and harder to remember what was just said.

What a wonderful read! The science is great and I loved learning about mosses, something I knew nothing about. The true delight of the book is also the authors heartfelt storytelling of how mosses fit into our larger world. I highly encourage anyone who hasn’t read her books to dive into this one. It will broaden the way you think about the ecosystem we all live in.
