Status Updates From Repentance: Breaking the Ha...

In surah Az-Zumar, verse 53, Allah (glorified and exalted is He) says,
“Say, ’O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do
not despair of the mercy of Allah; indeed, Allah forgives all sins; indeed, it is He
who is The Forgiving, The Merciful."

Instead of fleeing to Allah (glorified and exalted is He) or needing Him, you are
turning away from Him as if He needs you; and running after things that distance
you away from Him. What is the logic of that?

And from the strangest of the strange things
that you taste the punishments of having your
heart attached to other than Allah
And then you don’t run away from that thing
to the beautiful reception from Allah (glorified and exalted is He)
and the fullness that He offers you.

"The one who truly truly fears Allah are not the one who cries and wipes his tears. But the one who truly fears Allah is the one who abandons that which they are afraid of Allah holding them accountable."

"Imam Hasan Al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said that when a thief is robbing a house and he hears the door moves and he goes and he hides, he went from committing theft to committing a minor act of shirk.
How is that?
Because before the door rattled, he was not afraid. When the door rattled, he feared that person instead of Allah (SWT). He assigned something to that person as opposed to Allah (SWT)"
