oh compared to penny pollard this main character here is different in a cookie-cutter boring way, it's very "such-and-such normal activity makes me anxious and i'm going to flip out" blah blah blah that there's been a lot of recently in kids books, probably it sells well but it's not my thing. i'll give it to the end of the chapter. oh! i just want to find another 5 star book :(
