Lorenzo and Lisabetta fall in love but her three brothers disapprove of the affair and coax Lorenzo into the woods where they kill and bury him. She is distraught, having no idea why her lover has vanished. He appears to her in a dream and explains how to find his body. She retrieves his head and buries it in a flower pot that she mourns over every day. But sadly the brothers steal away the pot too.

A princess is sent by her father to be wed to a king. But she is in love with another and he captures the boat she’s on. She is murdered by her captors and thrown into the sea. Her lover and his men slaughter the crew and recover her body. But the lover is imprisoned and beheaded.

Three sisters fall in love. One poisons her lover and another is slain by her lover. The two still alive flee.
“Folco became suspicious. He had heard it said that the Duke was in love with Magdalena. He pressed her to reveal the truth. She was forced to tell him. Overwhelmed with grief, Folco flew into a rage, drew out his sword, and slew her as she was begging him in vain for mercy.”
