The wilderness really can be ugly sometimes. But from that ugliness came beauty. You see, those poor dead creatures returned to the earth, their bodies nourished the soil, and they helped create the most dazzling spring bloom the island had ever known.

Almost halfway through this book- and now the scene from the movie are starting to show up quite often. I love this novel- I’m picturing all the scenes in my head as I read. I’m just a sucker for books that take place in nature- and this wonderful little novel is no different!
