Jack’s parent’s anniversary party was a success. However, after the party Jack rushed out the door in a hurry, where he ended up meeting Kate in a hospital bed. She understands why Jack might feel a certain way towards her for being stood up on prom.She wants to tell Jack what’s going on with her but she’s not ready yet & wants to feel like a normal girl for a little longer before everything changes forever.

Jack feels that although he’s still being “punished” not much changed.Franny still gets to sleep over like always does.Franny asks Jack to be there when his dad gets home since he doesn’t want his dad meeting Jill yet.
Kate is still in contact with her ex and might still have feeling him.Jack gets stood up on prom.He drive to her house and misses the entire prom. Kate repeatedly says sorry.

His best friend Franny finds out that his father is expected to come home by the end of the month but he has mixed feeling about his father’s return.

Jack is escorted to Kate’s room by police officers. When he gets there, Kate is almost gone. He ends up injecting her before being escorted out by the officers .
In high school, Jack ends up bumping into a girl.They make jokes about how they’re meant to be. Jack never ends up making a move and she ends up dating Jack’s best friend. In college, Jack still has feelings for Jill until he meets Kate.
