Status Updates From Jago & Litefoot Series 14

14.3 - "The Corridors of Power" - Didn't expect the appearance of an established Doctor Who antagonist here. Granted, the story kept containing stronger and stronger hints until the final reveal, but I kept brushing them off because it didn't track with what we previously know about that antagonist. But here we are. Convinced this is a bit of rewriting of canon, but then what is canon anyway? On to the final part!

14.2 - "The Laughing Policeman." An odd switch to first-person perspective, from the point of view of the title character. This makes it feel somewhat contrived as the policeman in question needs to constantly be in the presence of our protagonists as the story unfolds. Would love to know how this was handled in the original scripted version. Not sure if this adds enlightenment or confusion to the series plot arc.

14.1 - "The Red Hand." Great start to series 14. Would have loved to have heard this as originally scripted, but it works surprisingly well as an audiobook reading. (Jamie Newall has everyone's voices down pat.) Call it a steampunk "They Live," with J&L and the regular cast positioning themselves as the Victorian era resistance to an intriguing (alien?) invasion. Too, too cool.

Oh wow. Jago and Litefoot get red-pilled. Literally!

I didn't think I'd enjoy these audiobook adaptations of what were originally intended to be the 14th series of J&L audio dramas, but halfway into the first episode, and I'm sold. This is probably due to Jamie Newall's excellent narration (and rather good impersonations of the main characters, particularly Christopher Benjamin's Jago).

The 2nd story was confusing and I should have listened more regularly.
