I am aboard the Brandon and Marianne train. "I want him to read aloud the verses I like least; I want to hear the words in his voice, for then, though I may still not like the words, I will love them."

"For a moment, he appeared too stunned to speak. Then, with quiet anguish, he said, 'I have seen you in love, Marianne -- and this is not it."

Oh man, this scene is so good. All their miscommunication is so frustrating though!!!

The sad event I knew about before starting the book has now happened, but it's really something to see Elinor's response being shown. It feels very realistic.

Things are heating up! This definitely has more intimacy than Jane Austen ever showed in her novels, lol.

This is a very slow burn between Marianne and Colonel Brandon, but that makes sense with the original and I like how things are gradually building here.

Some drama is finally happening!

Okay, I'm really liking that Marianne and Colonel Brandon have struck up a letter writing correspondence. This is probably the best part of the book so far!

"Tell me, Mrs. Ferrars, what do you do to keep yourself entertained?"

"Oh, I find conversations such as these to be an endless source of amusement, Mrs. Whitmire."

I love Elinor's dry, subtle sense of humour XD

I must admit, this is very slow-paced, and I am hoping things pick up soon...
