I’m so proud of baby. Sawyer stood up for herself. I would have been slightly meaner, but she did great!

I don’t think Madeleine wrote the sex scene I just read with the intent that the reader would laugh and imagine sitting around a circle reading it and laughing hysterically with their friends, but here we are. I think it’s just the fact that I’ve read 5 other books by this author now and none of them prepared me for this novel and for it to have graphic sex scenes. I love graphic sex scenes...but not these ones

This book is sweet. I was hit with the fact that it’s a new adult and not a YA like I thought it was a few chapters ago, but it still has a mostly YA feel to it. I’m not intensely obsessed with this book, but it’s a sweet read. I can see places where there will be sequels and will definitely check out the rest of the series as it comes out. I do like this author even though she can be a little hit or miss.

If I’m being completely honest I expected this book to fall from my good graces, but here we are. I actually quite like this book. I feel like it’s paced very well and so far that the storylines are flowing very smoothly. The writer in me pays attention to that sort of thing and I can say, I’m not disappointed. Do I love Sawyer? Eh, sometimes. Parker? Not really. But all the parts combined, I’m pretty happy.

I don’t mind this book. I’m awfully surprised to be honest. Nothing much is really happening, but I’m intrigued enough about what will happen.

I’m curious. Sawyer is okay and I’m not exactly feeling Parker, but I’m okay with the writing itself. A familiar author with familiar writing will drive my curiosity for at least a little while. The book will have to start pulling its own weight soon to keep me going though. We’ll see.

I’m apprehensive about this one so far. I like Parker so far but am less sure about Sawyer.
