I’m enjoying the story but feel a disconnect between the narrators and their accents.

I feel like the female narrator uses a slavic accent for the mmc but the male narrator doesn’t.

I also get distracted by what sounds like hard candy in the male narrator’s section and the different inflections he uses in the same section.

I gave my son my Kindle and said pick a book for mummy to read and this is what he went for because “it has a wolf on it”.. low and behold, I get 3 chapters in and realise, at some point in my life, I have already read this. I skim read the rest and yep, I have definitely read this, most likely years ago. Am I counting it as a 2026 read though, yes, yes I am.
