Prediction: Katie uncovers some sort of scandal at Carver. In the process of discovering this, she finds out Jason lied about his dad. This pushes her to publish the story and not tell him first. It gets ugly.

Getting on my soapbox. Just because they’re an accident of blood doesn’t make them family. Jason is NOT wrong for wanting nothing to do with his father. The only person you owe forgiveness is yourself. I will be pissed off if the father is magically a good person and they decide to be a family again.

I’m getting some Jasmine Guillory vibes. I Googled Katie’s Arlington address. It technically exists but it’s a house. While it’s possible it’s a 4 unit building or someone’s basement, it’s unlikely from what I know of the neighborhood.

An interesting account of life during Covid in America.
This is set at the start of Covid and starts off showing what we all experienced at the start and the changes in information given out at that time.
I love the building of the relationship between Jason and Katie.
There was a lot of soul searching from several of the characters in the book. Heartache, hope, love.
