No matter how hard he tried to convince himself that he didn’t care for Ned, deep down he knew it was all lies.

They're infuriating, oh my god. These two men deserve each other, both equally pig-headed and impulsive.
In similar situations, I'd say 'Put them together in an enclosed space and let them resolve their issues that way'. Only that they'd done it already and it only made things worse. Only Ned and Cole.
(Despite all of that I think I'll rate it 4/5, I'm suffering here, but I'm also invested in their drama).

as much as i love angst, i dislike huge time jumps, specially when the first book is fast-paced and thrilling just for the second to be slow and introspective. there are better ways to deal with the consequences and emotional baggage of the first book, imo - maybe a bit more movement and change of settings. even so, i'm still enjoying the book and already dreading the moment i'll have to part with ned and cole... ☹️

The abandon with which he took Cole’s cock was a thing of beauty. How he squirmed and begged for pleasure, how he didn’t care to control his expression, or how he squeezed Cole’s prick in his hole with the enthusiasm of a man who didn’t know the word shame.
Maybe there wasn’t such a thing as shame when it was just the two of them.

This man was the love of his life, the bane of his existence, and the most arousing bastard who’d ever walked the earth. Cole wanted him from the tip of his nose to the rough heels of his feet. Those feelings hadn’t gone away after seven years apart, and it struck him that no matter how much he wanted to be free of Ned, it would never happen. ❤️🫠 ❤️

In happier times, he and Ned would sneak out to places like this and steal moments of happiness they ought not to share with anyone. It had been their secret world of gentle kisses, possessive touch and closeness beyond anything Cole had ever experienced with another person.

Yeah, well, what can I say? I don't like this cover. 🙄
But that doesn't bother me. I want to eat up Cole and Ned's love story! 😂 🤠🤞
