This Richard Powers novel is as good as any of the many of his that 've read over the pas 30 years, but even more poignant.
It is about brain damage.
And the brain's incredible power to heal due to its tremenous plasticity.
It gives me hope.
Even though the planet is, without a doubt, on the brink of a sixth extenction.
Paradoxical, eh?

Boooooring. This nonstop rehabilitation slow as molasses is putting me to sleep.

Very depressing reading about a total loser who gets into a car accident and his sister, who has an unhealthy dependence on him, who quits her job to help save him again.
