If we were accustomed to the exercise of the presence of God, all bodily diseases would be much alleviated thereby. God often permits that we should suffer a little to purify our souls and oblige us to continue with Him.

That all things are possible to him who believes —that they are less difficult to him who hopes— that they are more easy to him who loves, and still more easy to him who perseveres in the practice of these three virtues.
