EARLY CHRISTMAS GIFT TO ME MY LIBRARY JUST NOTIFIED ME THAT THEY BOUGHT THIS IM SOOOOOOOO HAPPY

The end of this volume was intense. I appreciate that the last few chapter of the volume had the same mood (intense). That kept me engaged.

Normally I'm not a fan of reading about secondary or minor characters and their backstories, but Philomela's and Adam's backstories had me hooked.

I just read a twist that I enjoyed.

Chise continues to be a mensch wrt how she treats Philomela. She's shining in this volume. 😍❤️

I enjoyed the suspense in that chapter. There was a part that was hard to read because Philomela went through more suffering. ☹️ As if she hadn't already been through enough emotional pain. 😟

It looks like Philomela made a good decision for herself and that she wasn't afraid to ask for help.

Chise was a mensch for being there for Philomela. I enjoyed reading about her having a badass moment with her magic. 😁😍❤

This chapter is intense and it has me hooked.

Lizbeth is continuing to be awful. Big surprise there. 🙄

I still think it's disturbing AF that Lizbeth abused Philomela so badly. 😥

Adam gave his mother a piece of his mind in a specific situation. Good for him!

That was a *lot* of information to process. 😮

I get the impression that the author might want me to feel bad for Lizbeth. That isn't going to happen.

The events in that chapter confused me. I liked the character interactions, though. 🙂

If I can care for myself while still saving you... Maybe it'll help save the girl I once was.

That quote from Chise is powerful. Her kindness and compassion toward Philomela are wonderful. ❤️
