I'll give this a fair chance but the writing style is so clunky, check this out:
“You look adorable,” he said with a smile.
“Very funny.” She elbowed him in the ribs.
“I mean it. Rarely do I see you in beautiful clothes, and this one looks great on you”
First: "This one"? This one what?
Second: "Rarely go I see you" - why not "I rarely get to see you"
Third: ", he said" but ". She elbowed"
