Farren is standing in her own. She is making friends with people that were once an enemy. She has discovered her father didn’t abandon her. And she’s getting married.

It’s also a bit disappointing that Farren and Crux don’t have a better relationship. I’m over half way and they just don’t connect for me. Farren is still in her head and walking on eggshells and Crux wants to burn the city down. They’re going in different directions versus coming together.

I would say that Farren, with help from Crux, has gotten her second wind. She is fighting back after hearing about Ben’s confession. Now Ben’s father will go to jail. Closure is finally around the corner. Let’s hope that Farren has a bit more personality.

Farren has hit rock bottom but again, she has found Crux. He cleans her up and puts her to bed. With the help of his brothers, they locate Ben and decide to give him some payback.

Crux has come back into his inheritance, since his released and is now on a mission to take care of Farren. He drives her to school, where Ben Warren is waiting to bully her. She ends up running out of school, all the way home with vomit on her clothes.

Farren’s behavior with Crux, after years of abuse, doesn’t seem realistic. She isn’t afraid of him and allows him to hold her without reservation or hesitation. Someone that has strong fears of mean wouldn’t allow that to happen so easily.

Farren is living in fear of the next man that will take Jeffrey’s place. Right up front, Farren has the victim mentality down. Only time will tell if she can grow a pair and stand up for herself.

Crux did murder Jeffrey Warner cause Crux witness him molesting Farren Hallewell. Now he is released and goes to find Farren, only to find that she is being bullied by Jeffrey’s nephew Ben Warner. Once again Crux saves her, only for Farren to go home and her her mother having sex with two random guys.

So, we meet Crux Malcolm, who is one of three brothers that are part of the Malcolm empire that was left by their father when he passed. Crux is being released from prison on a technicality, after being found guilty of murder.

Wow, the pain in what the heroine went through is bleeding from the writing.
