Something of an unexpected slog, I finally made it to the notes section at page 535 on my kindle. Listed at 288 pages because in print it's a coffee table book. Long and detailed, definitely not a popular history. Great at what it is and deserves 5 stars for that, but it was too long and niche and dull for me and dragged on forever until it got exciting at WWII. I've got to balance the qualitative into my rating.

Showing on goodreads as 288 pages, I was excited for a nice overview of the cruiser class. My kindle now shows me at 32% on page 224, and that's about how it's reading. So very very dense. Recommended for professional naval architects of the fleet... only.
