Status Updates From O amor nos tempos do cólera

“le bastó con un interrogatorio insidioso, primero a él y después a la madre, para comprobar una vez más que los síntomas del amor son los mismos del cólera”

I mesn the prose is beautiful and I greatly enjoy the storytelling (and a bump into Oscar Wilde?!) but what I do not enjoy is the concept of raping a virgin man that leads to a continuing intimate arrangement. And he starts caribg for her. Just let that one sink in a bit. Also the MMC is an obsessive asshole that no woman in the history of mankind would want to keep chasing them. It really is creepy and unsettling.
