I’m both anxious and excited for tomorrow since I’ll probably finish it then. I’ve spent so much time in the Circle of the World, I really don’t want it to end.

I had an inkling that the owl would be Rikke, and I knew she would have to turn Orso in, it had to be done for the North. Leo talking shit even after she handed him Orso was very unnecessary, Leo is very petty and annoying. Can he go too? Please? I never thought I’d say this but I’d rather have Orso as High Kind than Leo. At least he is self-aware I guess.

This garden party was miserable and bittersweet. Imagine what could’ve been had they not betrayed each other. It feels a bit hopeless. I love Rikke so much though. Leo has changed so much but he is still very annoying, I can’t with him. Orso still being in the city and coming to Rikke for help is an interesting choice. If she delivers him to Leo to ensure their alliance/his forgiveness I’ll be so shocked.

And Rikke is here! I hope nothing bad happens to her or to her entourage. I’ve grown so fond of Shivers and Isern that if anything ever happened to them I’d lose it.

I wonder what will happen now to Savine and Vick too, there’s no way he’s letting them off the hook. I’m worried.

I can’t believe that Gorst is dead and by a bloody flatbow bolt to the face (shot by Jurand), it feels wrong. It’s good that he went out fighting (though it still feels like a waste) he was so close to getting Leo too if it weren’t for Jurand. I didn’t think I’d care. That was sad.

I like that Temple was mentioned a few chapters back as Savine’s lawyer. It makes the Circle of the World seems very much alive.

I think Savine is planning to get rid of Leo one way or another, there’s no way she’d agree with him on executing Orso. And I don’t think Leo will agree to her choices being on the Closed Council and I can’t see her making the offer without a plan already in place. I honestly can’t see what will happen now. I wonder where Glokta and Ardee are and if they are alright.

Leo is embarrassing the Union in front of the Westport delegates (good to see Vick’s handiwork on Rosimiche still) I thought he knew better now. And even before that, what the hell is wrong with him? Being jealous of his babies and his wife and angry at his mother. I mean, it’s complicated and I get it (to a certain extent) but this is insane. He needs to go.

I have exactly 100 page left and I really don’t want to finish this book. There’s so much left I want more! I still have one more story collection but that’s it and I’m sad.

Offering Selest of all people a chair on the Closed Council is very interesting. A very bold choice. Vallimir I see. Curnsbick too. Kort less so but Selest dan Heugen, very interesting choice. I really respect Savine.

I like Savine a lot! Sulfur being back again is worrying me. And there is the mention of Zuri disappearing yet again the moment he shows up. Yeah! She’s totally an Eater. Or the author is trying to fool me into thinking that.

Vick my beloved, I’m so glad that she took Leo’s (Savine’s) offer to be an Inquisitor again instead of becoming a prisoner in the House of Questions instead. I really love how much Savine had changed! She basically saved Victarine’s life. I wonder if she is trying to take all the power to herself (and her children) that little comment to bloody Sworbreck was very interesting.

Also, what’s up with the strange marks on the backs of Zuri’s hands? What did Savine say? Pinpricks dimples? It makes it even more difficult to figure out. I hate the fact that we have not seen her the moment she got out of the House of Questions. Did Savine got her out? Did she get out by herself? Savine needs to speak to her as soon as possible. I need to know!

But is he even still around? I do not even know at this point.

I hate how we still don’t know the deal with Zuri. There are about 120 pages left and still hints are dropped and nothing is confirmed. I need to know! I was going to say that she might not be an Eater but now that I think about it I wonder if she truly is. Bayaz and Khalul have always tried to compete against each other & now that Bayaz has been cast aside maybe it is time for the Khalul’s agents to do the work

I do not like this one bit. It feels wrong. Both Leo and Savine had changed, though I like Savine’s change more. Poor baby Harod. And poor baby Ardee. It’s insane.
