Baiame is the creator-god of several tribes in southern Australia. Besides having made the world, Baiame also functions as a hero who braves various dangers and comes out victorious.
In this tale, Baiame must rescue his wives from the crocodiles that have swallowed them, and in the process, he creates Narran Lake in north-central New South Wales.
