Aaaand we‘ve had our first rape (maybe?) by the protagonist. Amazingly the psychology is the same as the Tiptrew characters in the Screwfly solution but it seems sincere.

Finished Shadow of the Torturer, really disappointed that I stopped just before the book’s climax. It did get better at the end and I will be reading Claw. Severian is a complete freak and I love it

the worldbuilding is So interesting and the prose is crisp but holy shit is the misogyny heavy
