I think I really want to study this phenomenon it’s just so cool and impactful on the whole discipline of scientific understanding of the universe.

This chapter was… interesting(?) it was very informative and the information was presented well but the author would explain what subsonic means but then casually use a word like photodisintegration. So an audience that isn’t familiar with subsonic should be able to infer what photodisibtegration is and understand that process. Other than that nitpick it was an awesome chapter.

The figures and captions in this book are phenomenal. I’ll definitely look at them again to build an intuition for the life cycles of stars and how they’re classified.

Chapter 2 had some discussion on how we observations are made in astronomy. I really liked the small discussion about how CCDs work and their applications in astronomy, how it takes the more of the human error out of identifying supernovae.
