swain has not given her a reason to not trust and yet she continues to fall into the pattern of not mistrusting him whenever things go sour. babe, if you have trust issues, just say it. just don't use swain's actions as an example for why you don't trust him when he has done nothing to earn your mistrust.

In what world would an undercover officer be
1. Put undercover immediately from the academy
2. Use their own names
3. Use their own cars
4. Be undercover in a town in which you will eventually be a day-to-day cop

These are skewing my views on the story.

Finally it’s over. 4 stars, it ended better than it started, but only slightly. Not completely sure why it isn’t a 3, but it;s giving me 4 star feelings.

Oh my God this is so cringe-y I’m practically dying of second hand embarrassment

The equipment tech has a South Asian, if not Indian name (Anjali Hassan), and can I just say, it is so funny, the way a simple name can make you feel simultaneously elated and resigned at the same time.

Despite everything I’ve hated up till now, this angst is amazing. Wow, this is exactly what I needed, and I wish this was available earlier on as well.

Honestly, this scene is too bad to be true. I cannot believe the guy even fell for it, because it was so obvious and unsubtle, the deception and manipulation. Coming from someone who has definitely manipulated at least a few people, be they only little kids or teachers, this is not how you do it. The bait isn’t enough and honestly this is way too fast for any kind of trust, in my opinion.

That made her human, she supposed. Exercising one’s power to attract attention and admiration on a purely physical level was still an exercise of power. She never wanted to make it her primary power, but she no longer felt like it diminished any attention or admiration she earned through hard work, intelligence, or persistence.

Correct me if I’m wrong, and I know I’m not, but liquid nitrogen is cold, and not hot. I can’t believe I’m critisicing a sex scene, but please get your facts straight, liquid notrogen, i.e. nitrogen at -196 degrees C, is pretty evidently cold and not hot.

I am loving the angst, but the lust needs to be toned down because otherwise this has stopped being a romance and has become a PWP, which is not what I came here to read. Swain still isn’t on my good side. He just keeps abandoning and leaving her out, when I wanted collective badassery.

What the hell was wrong with him? There was chemistry between them, but because he didn’t measure up to her standards, or her daddy’s standards, or really anyone with standards, Eden chose to deny it. Still no matter what her reasons might be, they were her reasons.

You know what you sound like, Swain? You sound like a creep and a stalker. Thank you for at least giving her some agency.

This is two books back to back which make no sense with the basis for the romance, and frankly, I am tired of it. Why, Why are you kissing? I thought you hated each other?!?! It’s not really an enemies to lovers if the enemies part is just there for show at some points?!!
