two main thoughts:

1. i can’t believe how transparent katie is while maintaining such a high level of professionalism. it’s a combo i didn’t realize existed and one that i’m daily growing more fond of.

2. i don’t think i could research evangelicalism in this capacity. i think it would hurt too much.

i’ve never read anything like this before. it’s an ethnographic study laced with katie’s most intimate thoughts about evangelicalism. objectivity and subjectivity in tandem. it’s beautiful. and it’s also wrecking me. i know what she sees and i feel what she feels. reading this feels like going on a journey with her through what it is to be a woman both outside and in the evangelical world.
