Status Updates From Pangaea: Prose and Poetry

I have lived too many
lives to be only one thing,
and instead of attempting
to mesh them into the form
of a human being, I have
decided to love every jagged
edge of mine.

Allow me to introduce myself,

a warning and a welcoming,
all at once.

What else is the heart but a fist pounding on a door, over and over, a door that leads nowhere? I am so tired of knocking on the entrance to a purgatory.

Too often, I am the waiting room and not the destination.

we were born without borders
until your politics put them there,
creating confines for
our brown bodies to break between.
