This isn't a great addition to the series and maybe its because 2/3 of the way in, there's no case.

So part of the reason why these two have so much sex seems to be that Julia dissociates with sex. She’s quite avoidant and Cassidy is quite emotionally immature. Not sure this is a working pairing long term. At least, not without significant character growth.

Jumped right in to book 5 because the plot is Julia focused, which is highly needed.

"I let out a long breath. “At least now I know what year you were born.” Julia’s mouth dropped open when she realized the oversight.
A coy smile reached my lips. “You’re looking damn fine for being—.”
“Don’t even say it,” Julia testily warned."

I tightened my arms around her waist and pressed my lips against her temple. “It’s you and me, babe,” I murmured into her hair. “Always.”

"I stroked her naked form with neither urgency nor intentions. I was content to just feel her skin beneath my hands and feel the reassuring weight of her body against me."

“You might be fine like that, but I’m not. Get your body on my body,” I all but growled.
She pressed her cool mouth against my cheek. “Who’s the heartier Minnesotan now?” she playfully mused. 
“You win all the prizes, baby,” I allowed.

“That’s my girl,” she purred.
