"What T and I Did" - 2/5 - Middling magazine fodder complete with spurious science and (literal) whip cracking villainy.
"Mr. Jester" 3/5 - Feels more like a Ron Goulart story than anything previous, doesn't fit with the tone or MO of anything else in the book thus far but not a bad read. Hugely over the top mock Orwellian parody world where laughing is illegal - shades of Ellison's 'Repent, Harlequin.' as well.

"The Peacemaker" and "Stone Place" - 3.75/5
Starting to develop into more of a coherent whole, these felt much more focused than the earlier ones.

Didn't realize going in that this was (barely) a fix up - more of a short story collection as so far very little has crossed over from story to story.
"Without a Thought" 2/5 - Interesting enough concept, rough execution.
"Goodlife" 2.5/5 - Extremely run of the mill but decent.
"Patron of the Arts" 3/5 - Almost reads like a Twilight Zone style morality tale, complicates the Berserker machines a bit.
