So far, this book adds absolutely nothing to to story or the series as a whole. I feel like I wasted my time entirely

I want to know how it ends but Matt went from being an immature dick to absolutely insufferable.

So far I’m bored. I mean I know she’s alive I keep waiting for something but I’m bored. I also hate the fact that he’s hitting on penny or fantasizing about her. Also I get he loved her at 15? But he knew her for what? 3 months maybe. Not even. And 15 years later he’s pining over her? Which is great but also not realistic. Although there’s not a lot of realism in the series so there’s that.
