Status Updates From The Wedding Wager

This was the most unexpecting ending in a book I've read in a while, A duke leaving everything behind and accompanying his wife on the adventures of the sea - now that's progressive and this little detail earned the book a whole another star from me. I am so happy that Victoria did not have to change herself after becoming a duchess rather Chase was the one accepting changes in his life

Oh so his father made him promise that he won't have children, I was assuming it was Chase's own decision. That's so terrible. I feel really bad for him. He loves Victoria but can't give all of himself to her because the past holds him back. I am not sure Victoria's dad telling her the truth about gambling her away made him any better in my eyes, he had other ways to ensure his daughters' happiness

Her sister has surely acted as a catalyst in Chase and Victoria's relationship. I couldn't believe that Victoria sussed him out so soon and suspected that he wasn't a rake after all. And since Chase has started developing feelings as well, he couldn't let her suspect and admitted the truth. I liked how he stood up for her and advocated women's potential. Victoria is rather forward in her thinking, it's refreshing

I wasn't expecting them to be married so soon but I guess it would give them time to come closer. Victoria is so clueless about everything and well Chase doesn't want to do anything because of his issues. I am wondering what would make the two of them eventually give up the pretense that they don't want this. Chase plans to make Victoria believe that he didn't honor his vows, curious to see how that goes

Hmmmm I am disappointed that this didn't interest me as much as i had hoped. Victoria and Chase are both good enough characters but I haven't sensed the sort of chemistry or the pull between them that would make me root for them right now. Victoria's dad is vile for having wagered on his daughter no matter what the case. The butler is atleast someone who truly cares for her though
