October — done. the editor of this book should be ashamed, and I’m not even being harsh. “INSERT.” really? the editor even managed to mess up Caitríona Balfe’s name. how do you do that?? it’s not hard at all. Sam calls her “Cait” all the time, not “Cat.”

starting in September is a completely valid way to read almanacs. I love the format, and I love how Sam’s silliness complements Graham thoughtfulness. I have his (Graham’s) voice in my head reading all these historical stories. my edition needs a bit of editing though.

September! We get more history with the Battle of Prestonpans and more shenanigans from Sam and Graham.

The month starts badly (with the passage of the Bans in 1746) but does include Lady Nairn's birthday!

July! This was the perfect time to read about the Hebridean Isles after I'd just visited them last month.
