A stalemate at best, but they live to fight another day. Amy is flawed, as any great character is, but I don’t blame Dusk for his anger and hurt at the betrayal—even if it was as much unintentional as it was a delay of the truth.

I don’t feel sorry for Opal, but I do want to detox her from the sword. At the same time, she made her bed long ago and it’s high time she laid down in it.

War is a messy thing, Naru. But you have those by your side who are fighting for their freedom. That’s a hella powerful motivator.

Marching into a dangerous battle with injuries and fresh from another attack, all on the hope of saving someone you love, someone you call family? To quote another character, “You were a Mikaelson”.

I can’t say I blame Violet. She and the other gemstone familiars lost so much more than Amy can comprehend.

Interesting that she found herself in the Everglades after fleeing Opal’s fortress. Makes one wonder if it was a portal or if Opal has set up shop in the Everglades with a concealment spell. And Violet. Will she survive this?

Glass mages, mermaids, kitsune, shifters. I am loving it all. I’m also curious as to who Amy’s father could be, given she’s got telekinesis as well as enchantment magcics.

The will to fight and the call of allies are never quite as strong as when necessity roars in desperation. I do hope Ro’im is strong enough to be the ally Iris needs. The entrance being in Israel is both fascinating and fitting somehow.

I really do love how non-binary/androgynous characters are treated with the same ease and regard as the rest. Such a simple thing—they/them—yet so many in our world’s societies have a visceral reaction to it as though it’s a slight against them and not simply a pronoun to be used.

Falling under attack, even only the suspicion of a coming one, is enough to set anyone on edge. I do hope Amy is safer than she fears she is—or rather isn’t. Perhaps it’s not Opal’s assassin after all. Perhaps a friend or a fellow ex patriot.

Whoops. A powerful protection spell against someone who may be equally as powerful and Freya’s necklace from a weather mage. The battle of Opal’s Fall. Those twin swords corrupted her beyond measure and in the moment her friend was killed, she didn’t care anymore. A destroyer of worlds.

To see Amy all grown up. She wasn’t so young in War of the Twin Swords, but standing on her own with her own magic shop is a good thing to see. Poor Earl. Looks like he may need to decide what he wants for his future.
