Rob's parents are game developers and owners of Gamezone, so there is a suspense aspect to the story. Someone wants to steal their ideas. Rob is helped, by the other characters, through the computer. "Lure of the Labyrinth", their new game, is in Rob's possession, and he needs to keep it out of the thief's hands. How will he do that when he is confined to his wheelchair? The story revolves around Tamsyn Smith, who attends Abbey School in Portsmouth, England, and Rob Zanelli, who is homeschooled. Rob has a state-of-the-art computer setup, as a consolation prize for his not being able to attend public school. He is lonely for peer companionship. Other dated references include computer club, newbie, and old game titles. Josh is a friend of Tamsyn. He loves computer games.

This story is written around the time when ordinary people are just learning about computers, the internet, and the world wide web. It has a contest offered if you buy the book, "win your own computer, an Apple EMate 300 mobile, with a retail value of around $1000.00! That shows how dated the story is.
