So I will indeed be dnfing this book because life is too short for me to be spending time reading a book that I am not liking/loving. I wanted to like this book but it’s just not working for me.

I’ve cringed so hard at Arael pretending to be Felix that I almost contemplated dnfing this book. However the ending scene in chapter 10 with the guards made me laugh and saved me from potentially dnfing this book. However I don’t know how many more cringe scenes I can take before I might dnf this book.

I’m glad that Anyah stuck up for her brother and threatened to make Chet miserable. However, I wish Arael had more of a backbone. Like dude you are a prince how are going let those ignorant, evil assholes talk to you that way. Like fight back threaten them, arrest them, or even punch them but please do something. It’s horrible that he was taken advantage of in that way and I hope Chet and Max pay for their deeds.

Now I am mad because wtf just happened!!! Areal stand up don’t let those bastards talk to like that. Throw them in the dungeon or something like nigga you are a prince don’t let them get away with what they did. Chet and Max count your fucking days you evil backstabbing bastards. You are pathetic losers who honestly deserve each other.

Hazel is really funny, I think that I like them. They have a very positive perspective on life. Side-note I feel bad for Anyah, watching your best friend who you’re in love with hopelessly crush on your brother has to be a form of psychological torture.

This book is definitely interesting so far, I will say it’s kinda funny how fast Areal and Thalia’s relationship ended over something so trivial. The fact that the contents of the book don’t really show up is a little weird but I don’t think it will deter from reading the book.

the conflict point of the prologue reminded me of a corny sitcom argument but i’m willing to push through… i really like the worldbuilding!
