Beginning Chapter 2 now. I some interesting tidbits here and there to ponder. Mostly one big run on sentence.

It is perfectly possible for behaviour to become entirely contradictory.

For instance, there are two equally potent, but completely contradictory, ways to sell a product: 'Not many people own one of these, so it must be good' and 'Lots of people already own one of these, so it must be good.'

Religion feels incompatible with modern life because it seems to involve delusional beliefs. Just because we don't know why it works, we should not be blind to the fact that it does it.
