“OMG totes yes! But let’s be careful and not let the reader know. Just let me throw up a bit to punctuate just how BIG this secret is!”

“Had she betrayed her captain?”

- hell yeah! Tried over and over and finally managed.

“Hobbes took a breath. What was the old man on about?”

- now suddenly Hobbes plays the role of a doubter who calls the captain “crazy” or an “old man”. She sure didn’t have any doubts during the mutiny. It’s so annoying. We have an unknowable enemy, our captain is making educated leaps of logic but his smart second doesn’t keep up to we can spice up the plot with minor conflict.
