2 parts - grandmother the connection. Characters could have had deeper connection or a reason that it was unable to be achieved. 1st part - NYC and art vs commerce. 2nd part - fantasy where art is everything and no boundaries to require quality.

This book that felt like 2 parts. The grandmother’s influence was strong enough to be the tie between the 2. deeper links in character relationships or for the plot to elucidate why that depth of connection could not be made. 1st part was the main character wandering through modernization of art vs commerce in NYC; 2nd part was the main character in a fantasy everything is art even if without quality or purpose.

This is one of those books where like —- I really don’t get what’s going on 😂 hope that changes soon cause I’m trying really hard to pay attention
