Read the few remaining articles by Proust and commentary by Charlotte Mandell. Can’t wait to read her other study of a lost Proust book.

Read the title story and its variation. The title story is about two women who are struggling with their mixed emotions for each other and for others. Confusing at best but well written. The variation seems to take story in a different direction. The lengthy description of the soldier borders on the salacious and one wonders if this the reason Proust stops in mid sentence.
