Status Updates From Here for the Right Reasons ...

I have had such a viscerally negative reaction to this book, specifically the second part. I really can’t understand why. I am all confusion.

I haven’t read any more pages but I’ve been getting progressively more annoyed with this. They are being so incredibly dramatic. As if he’s literally being forced to marry someone else ??? And they’re acting like they will die without one another… it’s literally been a month ??? I went from “this is cheesy but kind of cute” to “my blood is kind of boiling all of a sudden”

Ok they’re getting too dramatic for me now.

All this talk about Covid and lockdown and restrictions is really taking me back. And I had almost cleared it from my mind.

It could be that the author wants us to project ourselves onto the MC but I know for sure that I am not the type to be cast in a Bachelor-type show, so it’d be nice for some descriptor of her. Also, the Very Special Episode about racism comment was funny but then it became kind of a Very Special Episode… and THEN it made me cry. So that’s fun.

I did something crazy. I picked this up at 10:30pm last night and kept reading for two hours 😳 it was like I was young again. Wild! Initial thought was that it was cheesy. Dylan was a bit vanilla, but he’s sweet now. I don’t like that I cannot tell which country this is in. I know the author is Australian but this doesn’t feel Australian at all. I also cannot picture the MC at all…
