Status Updates From Metanoia (The Fifth Yanai, #1)

There’s something off about the writing, but I’m quite liking the story and characters. I wouldn’t consider this dark fantasy at all though.

This is way better than I expected so far but I don't have a firm grasp on the plot so either I'm lost or it has a slow start. But the writing style and world building are both really good regardless. I like the way both religious sects have their own culty flourishes and their own belief systems that feel unique and not like they're replicating real world religion beat for beat.
