Status Updates From THE 1619 PROJECT: A New Ame...

I just started reading today. Or, I tried to read it. I guess I thought this was a history book, but something was off. It was the idea that the author (editor?) was shocked to get all the way to high school to discover that slavery began in the US in 1619. As someone who had college Freshmen not know when WWI was, I am amazed she learned that before grad school. Reading as editorial journalism, not history.
