Gobbling through this on my long flights over holiday. Like everything else Khanani does, this story is SO GOOD. I've always been a tree gal.

I receive this a chapter at a time through the author's newsletter, so I am not sure how far I am, but she just anounced that there are 2 more chapters, so I am guessing I am at least 85% of the way through.

It is connected to The Dauntless Path world, but is a story from their past, so all the characters are new. Once the book is complete, I am going to reread it all at one time so I get a coherent view of it.

I've been reading the story on Intisar Khanani's Patreon and am absolutely loving it! The characters build well and I can't wait to hear more of them. Right now we are in a very exciting turn after introducing a new character (maybe it's just my expectations - very well built hook in any case!) and I fear for the characters... Reading it chapter by chapter reminds me of my fanfiction reading times - the anticipation!
