The author carries a fundamental misunderstanding through the book, confusing action with motive. This is something that is never addressed in the book, to its own detriment.
An action can, in and of itself, be labeled as kind, or to use more precise terminology- something the author never attempts to do - an action can bring about wellbeing. But that action does not necessarily need to be motivated by kindness.
