I found this book to be extremely helpful and enlightening. He encourages seeing the children's perspective and to find the kernel of truth. This book is geared toward well meaning parents that maybe had limited skills or resources.
Some the comments about grossly abusive parents-starving, burning,or beating children- are just. This book was not written for them. In my opinion, those perpetrators should be jailed.
